Improvement in the 8yr old department

I would just like to post about my 8 year old baby who is behaving much better these days.........she doesn't use the electronics as much now as we have restricted it....she is talking to us nicer and going to bed almost on time. We had a nice little talk and it worked. Hopefully it will keep up.

8 Year Old Dilemma

Does anyone out there know how to deal with an 8 year old daughter who has started answering back, being disrespectful to us in particular, doesn't understand the word no, and who says she is too old to have a time limit or even a time curfew for being on electronics (computer/ipad etc). I have tried being positive, we have tried rewards which work short term, we have been really nice and we have tried not to react to her when she is doing this. We of course have even tried the yelling and screaming and yet nothing works.......it's as though she is on a mission to send us insane. I could understand that if she was 13 or so but not at 8. Please help, I love my baby so much yet I'm lost as to what to do next and it is stressing me out.

2012 And Beyond

First day of 2013, our wedding anniversary, eleven years today and it's been a whole year since I started this blog. Wow a lot has happened in 2012. 2012 has had its bad times but has also had some really good times too......well worth being grateful for.
I wasn't planning on blogging on this blog for this year but I think sometimes I may need to revisit in order to remind myself about being grateful and not taking things for granted. So I will do just that even if my blog states 2012 it will now represent 2012 and beyond. Plus, I will post on my new adventurous blog 'passionate about creating'...excited about this. Whatever I Want And Whenever I Want

Ah the ability to relax and not do anything at all if I don't want to or to do anything I want when I want to without having to worry about anyone else. Today my son Nick and his girlfriend left for home and my sister and mum left Friday. It was nice to have them all here but at the same time even though I love cooking, it was hard work keeping up with meal times and it's nice to just have whatever to eat instead of having to whip up some gourmet meal that suited everyone's taste buds and preferences, especially at this time of year, Christmas when gourmet is expected. Looks like it may be toasted sandwiches or eggs on toast for dinner tonight? Not sure.....but who really cares...only me!

Blog Has Done It's Job.....Made Me Grateful

It's nearly the end of the year which means my blog is coming to an end, after all it was for 2012 and it has well and truly done what I set out for it do do, that being to make me grateful for the everyday things we take for granted and to make me realise how lucky and blessed I am. This is not to say that I will not be grateful in 2013 and beyond, it just means that my new blog will be focussing on other creative adventures that of course I will still be grateful for.
