Tonight is our last night here in New Zealand and it's my birthday, and we have just finished eating pizza for dinner. Not quite the fancy dinner out that I had planned but it was nice and we sat together in the caravan park as a family. Dave and I are now sitting in the camper having a drink as it is quite icy cold outside and the kids are in the pool. The pool you say, how cold would that be? Well it's not cold at all. It is apparently 30 degrees in the main pool and 40 in the small pool. I didn't go in because the idea of coming out to the icy cold air put me off. The kids are enjoying it though. Any way it is our last night and we have had a great time even with our hiccups at the start. Tomorrow we have a four hour drive into Auckland to drop our campers off and then head over to the airport. We will be back in Melbourne at 8pm. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to see a fair bit of New Zealand and to actually meet some of my relatives from my dad's side, as well as catch up with my friend Sharon whom I haven't seen for a few years. I wish I could spend more time with them and see more of New Zealand but we have run out of time, perhaps we shall do it all again in the future. I have truly enjoyed my visit and the experience but I am looking forward to going home and seeing my house which hopefully is finished. Fingers crossed!
Steph
