Darl is what I call my husband Dave, it's funny how you have a nick name for your friends or loved ones....his just happens to be Darl, he doesn't particularly like it but it has just stuck and I don't even remember how I got to calling him this. I do occasionally call others this as well so it's not an exclusive nick name. My hubby, Darl would like me to be grateful for him today.....I think he may be feeling a little forgotten and he is quite wrong. Yesterday on the way home from work I had an impulse to stop on the way to take photos... probably had something to do with Joolz, one of my blog members saying that I live in a beautiful area and should take more photos.......so I stopped at Swan Reach near the bridge and took a couple of photos of the bridge and the river, I also thought that I might stop at the Metung pier to just sit and take in where I am actually living, but I didn't and went straight home, I often think that I could be living anywhere in the world, where I get up from my bed in a house, get in my car, drive straight to work and when I'm finished work, do it all again but the other way around without seeing the actual place I am living in, so I need to make more effort to stop in at the village to see the Metung stores, the pier, the beach etc and take in the beauty of my place of residence, it's not just about the house you live in, it's about the area you live in as well. I was thinking that if it weren't for Dave my darling husband, I would be back in Melbourne, probably living with my sister, but instead I am still here in Metung, working and living the country life that we intended to be doing when we first decided to move here. So today, I am grateful for my darling husband Dave (Darl) for his persistence.
